W.B. Worsham House
The W.B Worsham House (Founder of the Worsham Bank), located for many years on South Hancock, near the
intersection with Omega. The house sold for $750.00 in 1959, with the understanding it had to be torn down or moved.
Some pictures were taken before and during the demolition. During its day, it was one of the most beautiful and well
appointed houses in town. Thanks to Bud Roger's generosity, the pictures are here for you to enjoy.
The Worsham House looking north.
Notice the larger chimney in the middle
and the unusual 6 sided tower in the
front of the picture.
The Worsham House looking
North-East. The railing on the roof
would be called a "Widow's Walk" in
New England.

Beautiful wood doors and trim were
used throughout the house.
The front stairs leading to the second
floor. Notice the carved trim and
alternate grained diagonal panels.
One of the most ornate fireplaces you
will ever see. It is carved black French
Faux Marblea (polished slate) with a
hand painted insert depicting flowers
on the mantle back.
Wash Basin. Notice the white marble
sink and back splash, and the textured
but water-stained, wallpaper covered
walls, with the wood corner trim.
